As quiet as we've been about Aptera, good news travels fast. Within days of our record-breaking prototype tests, we were featured in Popular Science. Bloggers also took note and soon Aptera became a mainstay across the Internet. From chat rooms to the LA Times, our biggest request has been to see the Aptera in action. Aptera Launch September 07
-------------------------------------------------

To celebrate the end of Aptera's R&D phase, and the entry into our manufacturing phase, we threw a private Launch Party where we unveiled the Aptera Typ-1. The festivities were held at Aptera's HQ

in Carlsbad, CA. The star of the show, the Aptera Typ-1, made a grand
entrance with founder Steve Fambro at the wheel, and his

wife beside him.


 


First Prototype Video

The initial, proof-of-concept Aptera Typ-1 saw its fair share of hard driving to test different drive and suspension set-ups. Here, we demonstrate a little parking lot acceleration test. Another hard day at work!
