The Aptera Typ-1 has met an overwhelming response in the press.
Check out some of the latest here:

We have enjoyed hearing from you, the customers, with your questions, thoughts, and concerns. Here is a quick way to get answers to some of your top questions.

Why are you limiting reservations to California?
Can I purchase a vehicle in California and take it back to my home state?

We greatly appreciate your interest in our vehicle, but unfortunately, we are limiting our initial distribution to California residents only. This is due to many reasons including our dedication to seamless customer service. We will not have maintenance centers set up in other states until the expansion of our distribution as well as all of the state regulatory issues worked out. We are working hard to make the Aptera available to everyone, but in order for that to happen we need to solve any future contingencies on a regional level first. Production is slated to start in late 2008.

Can we take a tour of the facility/test drive the vehicle?

We are in the process of setting up our production facility. Once operations are in place, the public will be able to tour the facility. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate this request at this time. Production of the Aptera is slated for late 2008. Once we have begun production, test driving the Aptera will be possible. Keep checking the website and newsletter for updates regarding these issues.

Does the Aptera offer heating and air conditioning?

Yes, air conditioning and heating are available. The solar assisted climate control mentioned on the website and much of our press, simply takes solar energy from the solar cells embedded into the roof to power the normal climate control system.

Are you publicly traded and can I buy stock?

At this point, we are private and not publicly traded, but we very much appreciate your interest in contributing to our company.

What are the performance numbers?

At this time we are not able to post hard numbers on performance, although top speed for the production model will exceed 85 mph, going from 0-60 in under 10 seconds.
